This would indicate a fault with the driver installation, go to your device manager, you should see an entry called ‘Imaging Devices’, from here you should see ‘OVT Scanner’, if you don’t see this or you see ‘USB Camera’ under other devices

You will need to install the provided drivers. Make sure that you install the relevant drivers that correspond to the operating system installed on your PC. Put in the installation disc in the drive and install the relevant drivers for your operating system.

If you have installed the correct drivers then try connecting the PhotoMaker in to a different USB port. The PC will re-detect the hardware and the PhotoMaker device should be detected as an ‘OVT Scanner’.

If you have done the above and the Photo Maker is still being detected as a 'USB Camera', right click this and select 'Update Driver' or 'Update Driver Software' then select 'Browse my computer for driver software', pop the installation disc into the CD/DVD-ROM drive of the PC, press the 'Browse' button and select the CD/DVD-ROM then press the 'Next' button to install the drivers, you will now see 'OVT Scanner' displayed in 'Imaging devices'.
